Just a few quick updates for you folks tracking what we are up to.

• We are up to $2,000 in funds raised so far. We’re not done yet though. We are still hard at work with another round of jersey sales, which you can get into here, Kori’s silent auction, and a softball tournament planned in the fall, just before the Dallas 3-Day event.
• After too long in my opinion, the men’s team is up and rolling. We finished 1st in the Softball World Cup Qualifier on July 5th and 4th at the Mesquite NIT on July 12th. We play next weekend in Houston for the State Tournament.
• The coed team is on a break while everyone is playing men’s and women’s with the respective teams. We play again in August and September to prepare ourselves for Coed World in October.

Last weekend, the team finished second to our friends on NorTex in the Annual Spring Qualifier at Softball World in Euless, TX. 

This is great news for the team. This provides us with depth and talent. Our team is far better than it was in the past with these additions. Welcome Candace and Chuck!

Save Second Base played our first tournament of the 2008 campaign under our new name on Saturday March 1st. The tournament was a C/D combined at Softball World in Euless, TX. Our final record on the day was 3-2 which placed us fourth among eleven teams entered. Several players from our regular roster were unable to play in the tournament and we would like to thank the players who helped us out by replacing them.
